October 2016 Desktop Calendar

Wow! How can it be November already? I must admit this year has been racing by and it's been hard to keep up. Welcome to November and here's your free gift. This month's calendar is from a recent trip to New York City. I had never spent any time in Brooklyn and my wife had wanted to see something different then the sites we usually frequent in the theater district. The Brooklyn Muesum is currently hosting an excellent exhibit called "Who Shot Sports". Wonderful pictures from sporting events captured from some of the earliest photographers thru the current amazing work of current artists is on display. If you like photography in general, or sports photography specifically, this is a must see experience. Later we stopped by to take some pictures of Manhattan from the Brooklyn side and the light, the sky, and the weather were all perfect. Please enjoy and share this calendar. The Window Seat

I've always been an aisle man. Access to move around the plane without crawling over fellow passengers, stretching out into the center pathway, and raising the aisle armrest for just a tiny bit more room have been my treasured rationals over the years. Until recently that is. Upon occasion (and often a very rare occasion) the forces of nature blossom in the sky. From the window seat the heavens shine majestic, tender moments of reflective grand wonders for fleeting specs of time visible to only a few anxious eyes. Camera phones never quite bring out the subtleties and nuances of the cloud orchestra, but since my smaller D500 is usually at my feet, so I thought a few snaps might prove rewarding.

Recently my wife and I got to spend a weekend in the fabulous Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. It was a mini vacation that we both desperately needed. The view from our room was full of color and lights in the evening (right through until morning) and crowed with the hustle and bustle of the Strip all day long. Now you can enjoy the vision that greeted us each time we gazed out the window on your desktop. Click here to download the high resolution version: August 2016

Travel Days

For me, travel days are the days between. Between games, between races, between work, between the past event and the next possibility. They exist to restore life to the weary, or give inspiration to the prepared. These days between provide barriers for experiences, compartmentalizing life into locations instead of time.

This month's picture is from a trip my wife and I took a few years ago to Sedona AZ. We participated in a balloon ride to get a different perspective of the beauty of Sedona and it was amazing. The trip began in the pre-dawn light and created spectacular views as the day filled in the darkness. Enjoy.
