On the second morning of our trip to Ocean City MD I awoke early in hopes of recreating the wonderful pictures of yesterday’s sunrise. To my dismay, gloom had overcome the sky. I thought I would try some long exposure ideas that I had read about and made lemonade.

Back in 1896 Labor Day became a national holiday. It was a day to celebrate the worker. The guy or girl who gave it his all. His blood, sweat, and toil. Her time, diligence, and fortitude. People worked to achieve their dreams, to provide for their family, to make the world a better place. Everyone needs a day to reflect on why we labor, and refocus our goals.

Every year for my wife's birthday we visit Ocean City Maryland for a few days. Early Sunday morning, while most of the beachgoers were still sleeping, I was out on the beach anticipating a glorious sunrise. I wasn't disappointed.
