The Zoo

Sunday was chilly and overcast, and I didn’t have an event to photograph, so I thought I would try my luck at the Philadelphia Zoo. The nice part was that the chill in the air kept the crowds away and the smell at an acceptable level; the downside was that many of the animals were not outside on display. Fortunately for me, the ones I did see were amenable to my camera snapping away at them while they rested and waited, although it’s not likely they could have done much else. Here’s some of my favorite shots from the day. It’s good to keep practicing.

The Season Ends for Villanova’s NCAA Basketball

Villanova lost their battle against the University of Connecticut Huskies over the weekend during the second round of play in the NCAA championships. I was given the opportunity to photograph a few of their games this year and I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures. Villanova holds a special place in my heart (and my wallet) since my father coached there when I was a child, my brother graduated from there, and my daughter currently attends. Great job men, and continued success.

The Season Ends for St. Joseph’s NCAA Basketball

St. Joe’s lost their battle against the University of Connecticut Huskies last evening during the first round of play in the NCAA championships. Last week they claimed their first A-10 division title since 1997. I was given the opportunity to photograph a few of their games this year and I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures. Great job men, and continued success. To see all the pictures I took at the games please click here:

#TravelTuesday The Bellagio Fountains

One of the coolest and inexpensive things to see in Las Vegas is the fountain show in front of the Bellagio casino. The man made lake is roughly nine acres and houses fountains that can shoot water 150 feet into the air. The fountains erupt every half hour during the day and every quarter hour after nightfall. The performance is accompanied with music ranging from opera, to country, to pop songs. It is a refreshing breath of fresh air on the Las Vegas Strip.

Think Spring

The Northeast was pounded by another Winter storm this morning, but yesterday my wife and I spent a few hours in Longwood gardens checking out some of the wonderful flora on display. Right now Longwood is celebrating its Orchid Extravaganza in the conservatory. It is a welcomed glimpse into Springtime so be sure to check it out. The show runs until March 30th. Oh, and bring your camera.
