NASCAR at Atlanta Motor Speedway

It was cold, very cold. Living outside of Philadelphia I look forward to traveling southward during the winter. Cars don't race in the snow so at least for the early part of the season I get the added benefit of enjoying the sunshine and lack of freezing rain, or so I thought. Race day was cold and rainy, the temperature hovered around 45 degrees for most of the race but there was a fine mist that delayed the start and just hung in the air. Congratulations to Jimmie Johnson for his win, and locking in a spot in the Chase later this the year. Please enjoy a few of my favorite pictures from the weekend.

March 2015

Here's you free downloadable March 2015 desktop calendar. I took thi last year when my wife and I were visiting Longwood Garderns in the Spring. Hopefully this will help you mentally push through the remainder of Winter.

The Daytona 500

This was my first visit to Daytona International Speedway, and shooting the Daytona 500 was a dream come true. So much of NASCAR revolves around the mystique of this racetrack. It marks the beginning of the season as well as the midpoint around the fourth of July. Victory at Daytona (and especially the 500) is a badge drivers wear with pride and distinction. It is a goal that represents courage, wisdom, fortitude, cunning, and teamwork. Hoisting that elusive trophy above one’s head is a dream every racer has fantasized about. Congratulations to Joey Logano who won the race this year and to Ryan Reed who claimed his first victory in the Xfinity series at the same track during the Alert Today Florida 300 the day before.

These are a few of my favorite pictures from the event. I work for Action Sports Photography who hold the copyright on all of these images. Please visit their website for more information and to view more images from Daytona.

February 2015 calendar download

Welcome to February! Exciting opportunities are beginning soon so I wanted to get this calendar out on the first of the month. This month’s picture is from a recent trip to Riviera Maya in Mexico. I have to say that getting a few days in wonderful southern climate during the bone chilling months of winter can rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit.

In an effort to be more consistent and to fill more pages on this blog I will start posting more of the photography I practice. I love nature and all the beauty in the world around us, but much of my photography also includes sports. This is first and foremost a photography website. I started this venture a few years ago to share my vision through the viewfinder with anyone who wanted to glimpse the world as I see it and capture it. Fortunately, I have be able to move forward with my vision and will continue to share photographs that will become better and better as my skills improve and I hone my craft.
