Marquez raised his head high in Valencia Spain yesterday as he was crowned the new World Champion of MotoGP. It came down to the last race in the series that he secured his place as world champion. He finished third on Sunday. His rival Jorge Lorenzo (pictured below “99”) won the race but was unable to close the point gap between himself and Marquez.. This picture is from the Laguna Seca round of series last year, which my wife and I attended. Marquez did not compete in the premier series last year which makes his domination all the more unexpected and phenomenal. He shattered many records which are documented on the official MotoGP website. Congratulations to this 20 year old World Champion!
