One of the cool parts about an off road jeep tour is that you get to cover a lot of ground fairly quickly compared to hiking, and watch in disbelief as the driver deftly overcomes obstacles that would be insurmountable to us city folk. We drove up the emergency access roads of Aspen Mountain. They switchback up the peak traversing the ski slopes, providing wonderful views of the valleys below and beyond. These are some of my favorites.
After our high altitude morning adventure in the jeep, we took a scenic drive around the Aspen area. The clouds picked up and brought some drama to the sky.
Later in the day the moon made an appearance, so we headed back to the resort to prepare for some fine dining.
Arriving in town early, we had some extra time to enjoy a carriage ride in the city center.
We were delivered to Above the Salt just in time for dinner. Excellent food, and wonderful drinks.
