Here's you free desktop calendar for August 2013. The picture is from our rescent trip to Aspen Colorado. The towering peaks are known as the Maroon Bells because of their purpleish hue. They are two fourteeners in Colorado meaning that their peaks are above 14,000 feet above sea level. See below for download link. Have a great August!

When we travel it’s great to get a different view of the area, and a hot air balloon ride is a great way to do it. I highly recommend seeing everything you can while on vacation. Soak in the sights, sounds, and views from everywhere you can, especially a thousand feet above the ground. These are my favorites.
Yesterday I was given the opportunity to check out the first open practice of the Philadlephia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. I went with a few other photographers and we had a great time taking pictures from the stands. These are a few of my favorites. If you want to see the rest click here to see all the pictures.
One of the cool parts about an off road jeep tour is that you get to cover a lot of ground fairly quickly compared to hiking, and watch in disbelief as the driver deftly overcomes obstacles that would be insurmountable to us city folk. We drove up the emergency access roads of Aspen Mountain. They switchback up the peak traversing the ski slopes, providing wonderful views of the valleys below and beyond. These are some of my favorites.
After our high altitude morning adventure in the jeep, we took a scenic drive around the Aspen area. The clouds picked up and brought some drama to the sky.
Later in the day the moon made an appearance, so we headed back to the resort to prepare for some fine dining.
Arriving in town early, we had some extra time to enjoy a carriage ride in the city center.
We were delivered to Above the Salt just in time for dinner. Excellent food, and wonderful drinks.
Last evening I photographed the WTT match between the New York Sportimes and the Philadelphia Freedoms. Seeing John McEnroe play was great. The rivelry between McEnroe and Connors is the first memory I have of watching tennis (back when the pants were WAY too short). Mr McEnroe still plays a mean game of tennis today, at the spry young age of 54, and has quite a bit of spunk and passion. Arguments with referees and the umpire were entertaining and envigorating, as I remember them on tv many years ago. No raquets were harmed during the match last night, but it was great fun to see a professional still passionate about the sport he loves after so many years.
